Roses are in sleep and the best time for them to get young again&
The vegetative growth during the summer months has been fully developed and now the pruning can stimulate the flowering for the next early summer. By pruning the roses just before winter, the natural impulse for flowering will intensify and thus the buds develop soon after the first greenery.
Turkish roses differ in principle from other roses. While others usually have more or less single plants, in Turkey you pull a hedge from the beginning, and you “train” the roses to become a hedge.
But also it is important to make sure that it does not freeze in the first days after pruning. Frost would damage the cut surfaces. Before the pruning process, the life juices of roses withdraw and release the branches above. Then, when the roses are cut, nothing is taken away from them because they are no longer active in the leaves and branches.
So in this regard, it is very important and crucial to not prune too early, because this would weaken the roses.
